Out of the 866 patients, 56 of the 866 patients – aged between 40 and 93 years old – had no known underlying health condition.

The way the figures are collected and reported means the number of patients confirmed to have died on a single day could increase with future updates.

The daily figures from NHS England do not include deaths outside hospital, such as those in care homes.

NHS England does not currently release figures on how many patients have recovered after testing positive for COVID-19.
