A MAN was arrested by police after he was allegedly carrying a knuckleduster on a street.
He was taken into custody for questioning by police on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon on Monday night.
Officers had carried out a stop and search on Doulton Street, St Helens.
A police spokesman said Matthew Johnson, 24, of Boundary Road, St Helens has been charged and will appear at court in June.
