ANOTHER five people being treated at Royal Bolton Hospital after testing positive for coronavirus have died, NHS England has confirmed.

That brings the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the area to 18, with some of those figures including people who have been tested post mortem.

Four people died on Friday according to the latest figures.

The latest data, released today, shows that one person died on March 20, two on March 23, two on March 24, one on March 28, one on March 29, two on March 30, three on April 1, two on April 2 and four on April 3.

However, the number may be greater as deaths are only added to the statistics after a post mortem confirms the diagnosis and do not include deaths which may have occurred outside hospitals, such as in care homes.

The number of people who have died after testing positive for coronavirus in England has now hit 4,494.

Workers living with elderly relatives are being warned to take"extreme care" to avoid an increased risk of catching coronavirus as figures show more than 1.2 million people over 70 across the UK live with someone of working age.

The Government advises anyone aged 70 or over to be "particularly stringent" in following social distancing measures, as they are especially vulnerable to Covid-19.
