PARENTS anxiously waiting to find out what school their children will go to next year should still find out next month.

Schools in the UK are currently closed to the vast majority of children to help slow down the spread of the coronavirus.

While it is unclear when schools will reopen, officers withing St Helens Council have continued to work through its admissions for the next school year.

A council spokesman said the team are currently “on track”, adding that parents who applied online should receive an email on Thursday, April 16, to confirm their allocation.

The spokesman added that the team are “hoping” to send out letters to families who did not apply online.

“Our admissions team are working hard to meet the national primary offer day deadline,” the St Helens Council spokesman said.

“The team are currently on track and those parents who applied online will be able to view their allocated school via the online portal and should also receive an email on Thursday 16 April confirming the allocated school.

“The team are hoping to post out letters to those families who did not apply using the online system.”
