FIREFIGHTERS were called to a deliberate car fire yesterday, Thursday.
Shortly after 2.30pm firefighters from Warrington Fire Station dealt with a car which had been set on fire in Midland Way.
The fire on wasteland near to Battersby Lane had already been extinguished by workmen when the crew arrived.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to damp down the inside of the car and make it safe.
Temperatures were then monitored with a thermal imaging camera.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately.
Anyone with information about the fire should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 67330, give the details online at cheshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
