AN 83-year-old great gran-of-four has launched a fundraising page to help Willowbrook Hospice during the coronavirus pandemic.

The hospice, which cares for people who are terminally ill, launched an appeal for people to continue to donate to them at the outbreak of this crisis, as they rely on donations to keep running.

With the lockdown in place fundraising events are not able to go ahead and the charity shops, another source of funds, have had to close.

With this in mind, former teacher Joan Harrison decided to launch her own JustGiving page.

She said: "If Willowbrook Hospice was to close it would be a catastrophe.

"Both my friend and a colleague were cared for at the hospice and they are amazing, but at the moment they need help to keep going.

"Especially at the moment, we don't know who is going to need hospice care, so we need now more than ever to support Willowbrook.

"If everybody just donated a £1 in St Helens we would have enough to keep them going."
