WARRINGTON now has 32 confirmed cases of coronavirus according to official government statistics, the biggest daily rise to date.
The latest figures released this evening, Tuesday, indicate a jump of 10 patients – an increase of nearly 50 per cent from 22 the previous day.
This total does not include residents who could have covid-19 but have not been tested as they are in self-isolation after showing symptoms.
Two patients, aged 59 and 71, have so far died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for the virus.
Both of these men had been suffering from underlying health conditions.
Nationally, 1,789 people have died after contracting coronavirus – with 25,150 confirmed cases.
