POLICE are urging people to ensure their vehicles are secure and not to leave anything in them after receiving reports of thieves trying car doors.
Officers had several reports from around the borough of vehicle doors being tried in the early hours of Monday morning (March 30).
Police say they had reports of such incidents on St David’s Close, Rainhill and on Heatherleigh, Rainhill and also on Poynter Street, Thatto Heath.

Meanwhile, officers also had a report from Sculthorpe Close, which also included an attempted burglary.
There was also a case on Dahlia Close, New Bold in which the registration plates of a vehicle were stolen.
On Monday night, St Helens Police said: "Thieves are about - be aware if you live in the following locations we have had reports of thieves trying car doors in the early hours of the morning - check your car is locked and nothing, not even small change, left in your car.
"If you do review any CCTV and see anything like this even if they don’t steal anything report to the Contact Centre Facebook account."
