THE number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in St Helens has gone up to 49.
Latest figures from Public Health England show that 49 people have now tested positive for COVID-19.
In Knowsley, there have been 34 cases and it has jumped to 53 cases in Wigan.
Last week it was reported that Prime Minister Boris Johnson has also tested positive for coronavirus after suffering from 'mild symptoms' as well as chief medical officer Chris Whitty.
Last week, Johnson announced a range of severe restrictions.
Here is the current government advice:
- Stay at home
- Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (where this absolutely cannot be done from home)
- Stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people Wash your hands as soon as you get home
- You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.
