A NINE-year-old boy has been making a scrapbook of all the coronavirus coverage in the St Helens Star to remember "part of history" whilst on lockdown.
Allanson Street Primary pupil Reece Newton, from Parr, has felt a little lost since school closed, as his mum Joanne Llewellyn said he likes the structure.
So, along with his big brother Dylan, 12, he has been putting together a scrapbook of all the coronavirus coverage in the Star alongside his own notes about what life is like on self isolation as a child.
One of the diary entries alongside a Star article
Mum-of-three Joanne, said: "With how old Reece and Dylan are they are picking stuff up from the news and were getting worried.
"We have sat him down and explained it all to them and told Reece if he listens to everything we tell him and do as Boris Johnson is asking of us all we will be fine and that this is part of our history.
"What we are going through is very tragic and people will talk about it in the future like we do about history, so they decided to make a scrapbook with little diary entries of what is going on and how they are feeling.
"It includes what things are limited, foods, how many people can leave the house and how we couldn't throw a party for their baby brother's first birthday.
"It's really been helping him and we have been using the Star to share what's going on in St Helens.
"I think it is a great idea for other children to put together, we can show them to their children once all of this is over."
