POLICE have given an update following yesterday's crash on the East Lancs.

The collision on Tuesday (March 24) involved a Mercedes Artic lorry and a cyclist near to the Lady Pilkington bridge, say police.

The cyclist, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital with "non life-threatening injuries", added a spokesman.

He said: "We were called to East Lancs Road, Windle at 5.05pm on Tuesday, March 24 to reports of a collision between a Mercedes Artic lorry and a cyclist, a man in his 60s.

"The man was taken to hospital for treatment to non life-threatening injuries. The driver stopped to assist with enquiries. The road was initially closed but was reopened later on.

"Anyone who witnessed the incident can contact @MerPolCC or 101 with reference 632 of March 24."
