DUE to increased demand, supermarkets in St Helens and across the UK have introduced dedicated shopping hours for certain groups and the amount of products shoppers can buy.
Here we have compiled the details on how Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Lidl, Aldi, Iceland, Co-op, Sainsbury's and M&S are responding to the pressures of coronavirus.
Tesco
The store has reduced its hours from 24 hours to 6am to 10pm to allow them time to replenish their shelves.
Tesco also introduced a special shopping hour for its workers and NHS staff before the shop opens to others before the store officially opens on Sundays.
However, NHS staff must bring their ID card.
The elderly and vulnerable have a designated hour from 9am until 10am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Asda
Asda will close its stores between 12am and 6am on a temporary basis.
The supermarket is prioritising NHS workers every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8am to 9am.
