A SERIAL thief has been jailed for 12 weeks.
Lee Steven Murray, of Stainton Close, Moss Bank was sentenced to imprisonment at Merseyside Magistrates' Court after being convicted of four separate thefts in February.
Murray stole beauty products worth £165 belonging to Boots on Church Street, St Helens on February 10.
He stole £30 of coffee from Tesco on Earle Street, Newton-le-Willows on February 20 and stole two bottles of alcohol worth £45 from the store the following day.
On February 29 he stole alcohol worth £30 from Aldi in Newton-le-Willows.
Murray was given consecutive four-week sentences for the thefts from Boots and Tesco and a four-week concurrent sentence for the Aldi theft.
According to court records, the jail sentence was passed his offences were "aggravated by the defendant's record of previous offending".
Murray must also pay a surcharge of £122.
