AN appeal has been launched to find a black Ford Fiesta seen near the scene of two suspected arson attacks at Eccleston Bowling Club.

The Knowsley Road club suffered the first incident on Monday, March 9, when at around 1.50am, it was reported that entry had been gained to Eccleston Bowling club and a fire had been started at the building.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended and put out the fire.

At this stage, the incident is being treated as arson and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

The second blaze, on Tuesday, March 10, at 11.40pm, left extensive damage to the building.

Again Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service attended and has confirmed the fire is suspicious.

Police say it was reported that a black Ford Fiesta was seen in the area around the time of the fire.

The car was last seen heading towards Douglas Street.
