RUNNERS and supporters marked the tenth St Helens 10K in style on Sunday.
Nearly 1,800 completed the tough course - and hundreds lined the streets to cheer them on.

The event, founded in 2011 by Steve Prescott, attracted its usual mix of club runners, beginners and charity challengers - and there were smiles, high fives and maybe a few grimaces on show as entrants got themselves to the finish line at Saints’ Totally Wicked Stadium.

First to cross the finish line was Matt Crehan, who retained his crown as race winner with a time of 31mins 26secs.
Jon-Jo Doherty was second in 32mins 48secs, while 16-year-old Charlie Roberts showed he is one for the future as he came in third overall with a time of 33.15

Meanwhile, Jade Smith, was the first placed woman, from St Helens Sutton Striders with a time of 39.46.

The second place finisher in the women’s category was Rachel Fairclough, in 40.09.
