WHEN dad-of-four Brian Collins lost his wallet while holidaying in New Zealand, he thought that was the last time he'd see it.

But his 'faith in people' has been restored after it was returned to his St Helens home.

Brian, from Newtown spent time all over New Zealand in December, but misplaced his wallet with all his cards in on the trip.

Like most people he cancelled his cards and didn't give it another thought, but weeks after returning home, he was shocked to hear from a Kiwi resident who found his wallet and wanted to return it.

The 62-year-old printer, said: "I looked everywhere for that wallet and couldn't find it over there, so cancelled cards and everything and just forgot about it.

"But a lovely woman called Ange Scurr found it ironically in a place called Gold Diggers in New Zealand, and looked inside and found my loyalty card for The Talbot, contacted them, got my number and got in touch.

"I just couldn't believe it, I was really, really shocked. It's amazing really, I didn't think I'd see it again but it has given me faith in people really.

"I had $55 New Zealand dollars in it and some sterling too, I told her to keep the dollars and treat herself for being so kind.

"She's sent it back and everything is in there, it's just such a lovely thing to do, it's not like I was just around the corner.

"I just wanted to share the lovely gesture, more people should be like this."
