A CONWY mainstay of the pub goer's bible continues to stake its claim as the darling of British real ale drinkers.

Ever present in the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) best selling book the Good Beer Guide since 2013, the Albion Ale House has been named Pub of the Season for Winter 2020.

This latest award for the Grade II listed pub - which is a owned by Conwy Brewery of Llysfaen, Snowdon Craft of Mochdre, Nant from Llanrwst and Purple Moose from Porthmadog - is for the Abercolwyn area, and sits alongside the award for 2013 Wales Pub of the Year.

Abercolwyn CAMRA Chairman Ian Saunders said: "Well done to licensee Geraint Hughes and his staff for continuing the great tradition of the Albion and making it a destination for locals and tourists alike."

Mr Hughes, 25 of West Shore, said: "It's great to be recognised with an award like this. Thanks to all of our great customers and hard working staff, without whom we wouldn't be considered for this award."
