Two separate vehicles, a Mercedes and a Ford Fiesta, have reportedly lost control due to the surface water, say police.

The vehicles did not collide with each other.

"There was a lot of surface water and it appears cars may have swerved and lost control.

"The fire and rescue service were on the scene, no one was trapped inside a vehicle.

"None have collided with each other but both have aquaplaned.

"Outstanding water needs to be dealt with and the council have sent a wagon to clear the water."

Thne road has now been re-opened and the accident cleared and the surface water has subsided.
