A ‘dynamic chairperson’ is wanted by Wirral Council to head up a board that will control investment into Birkenhead.
The town will receive an injection of up to £25 million from the government’s Towns Fund.
It will be used to drive economic development with a focus on urban regeneration, improved transport, better broadband connectivity, skills and culture.
As part of this, the Council is seeking to appoint a dynamic Chairperson to champion a Town Deal for Birkenhead and lead the Board in developing a programme of activities that will drive economic growth and deliver on the vision.
A voluntary position, the Chairperson will bring together a Town Deal Board, represented by the community, businesses and local leaders, to produce an evidence-based Town Investment Plan by the summer of 2020.
Expressions of interest are invited by noon on Wednesday March 4. For further information and a job description for the role of Chair, please contact Kate Pierce on 0151 691 8422 or email katepierce@wirral.gov.uk
