A COMMUNITY cafe owner says she is "disappointed" after having to cancel an autism club at the venue because someone smashed a window overnight.

Momo's on Westfield Street acts like a community venue and cafe for residents, clubs and groups across the borough.

One of the regular events is Monday autism club, which allows children and young people on the spectrum to enjoy time in a safe environment.

However last night someone smashed a glass window, meaning the club meeting has to be cancelled.

Claire Rigby, the owner of Momo's said: "We will have to cancel this evenings autism club as someone has put their foot through our window last night and there is glass everywhere.

"I’m so sorry, and to the person that did it I hope you’re happy with yourself.

"I spoke to the person who lives above Momo's and they heard a man and woman shouting last last night then a bang.

"I'm just so disappointed because of all the clubs we have here we never move autism club because people on the spectrum like structure and don't deal with change very well.

"We have cleaned up the glass and will be back to normal as soon as possible."
