A 42-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding after a woman was stabbed in the back multiple times in Sutton.
On Friday, January 24, police were called just after 12.30pm to reports that a woman suffered multiple stab wounds to her back at an address on Walter Grove.
Police and paramedics attended the incident on the Meliden Garden estate and officers have cordoned off a large area on the street.
The 30 year-old woman is still in hospital but is in a stable condition.
On entering the premises, a man in his 40s was found with stab wounds to his chest and lacerations to his legs and left arm.
He has been taken to hospital and his condition is also described as serious but not life-threatening.
