AN Everton fan who has gained international attention on his 1000-mile charity walk has arrived in Warrington.

Michael Cullen, aka Speedo Mick, set off from John O'Groats on December 6 wearing only his swimwear and is walking a marathon a day.

Mick, from Liverpool, wants to raise £100,000 for his charity Leave The Light On which will run community projects for disadvantaged young people.

He is now within £4,000 of reaching his target and still has quite a distance to travel until he reaches Land's End.

Speedo Mick arrived in Warrington on Sunday and set off from the Waterside Pub and Hotel on Centre Park at around 9am this morning, Monday.

He is hoping to reach Sandbach next.

Managers Amanda and Daniel Crilly put Speedo Mick up in the Waterside Hotel for the night and made sure he was well-fed and rested.

Amanda said: "He had fans coming in all evening wanting to give donations.

"It is amazing what he is doing, especially in this cold weather."
