A DRINK driver from St Helens has been banned from the roads after a crash in a Warrington town centre car park.
David Turner was more than three times the limit when he drove away from the scene of the smash in Time Square Car Park, Warrington.
Warrington Magistrates' Court heard last week that the 56-year-old’s Vauxhall Insignia was involved with a crash with a Mercedes in the Academy Way parking spot on Monday, December 20.
While he left the scene of the accident, Turner was later breathalysed and gave a reading of 115mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath.
The legal limit for drink driving is 35mg of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
Turner, of Malvern Road, Ashtons Green, admitted drink driving and failing to stop after an accident on Friday, January 10.
He was banned from driving for 28 months, fined £1,500 and told to pay a victim surcharge of £150 plus £85 court costs.
