A POLICE officer suffered a dislocated shoulder while detaining a suspected thief.
The police officer sustained the injury during a struggle after reports that someone had tried to leave a store without paying for items.

The incident happened at Cables Retail Park in Prescot on Monday afternoon (January 13).
Shortly before 5pm security staff and the officer detained a suspected thief.
The officer suffered a dislocated shoulder during the struggle.
A 38-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of theft and assault of an emergency service worker.
He was taken into custody as part of the investigation.
Knowsley Police said: "We certainly wish our colleague well who has been receiving medical treatment following the incident."
