A MAN remains in hospital with a head injury after being knocked down by a car on Sunday evening.
Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene at Blackbrook Road, Blackbrook following the incident.
A police spokesman confirmed a pedestrian, believed to be aged in his 50s, had been hit by the car.
He was taken to hospital.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.
The road was closed both ways between Ashurst Drive and O'Sullivan Crescent.
A police spokeswoman this morning (Monday) said: "In relation to Blackbrook Road, a 51 year-old man remains in hospital with a head injury.
"The driver stopped at the scene and enquiries remain ongoing."
