A MAN has been arrested after a crash that has left a teenager in a critical condition in hospital.
Emergency services were called to Mercer Street in Burtonwood shortly before 8.15pm yesterday, Thursday, after a scrambler bike collided with a lamppost.
The 19-year-old bike rider was taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries, and is now critically ill.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving in connection with the incident.
Cheshire Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward, and are particularly keen to speak to four teenagers who are believed to have been in the area at the time of the accident.
