NEWTON Storm ARLFC under-8s is celebrating after scoring a donation for new training kits.

Taylor Wimpey North West donated £560 for the purchase of two-piece shorts and tops for the under-8s team.

In addition, the club also undertook a climb up Mt Snowdon on Saturday, September 7 to raise the funds needed to kit out the rest of the team for the coming months.

Lee Roberts, one of the under-8s coaches at Newton Storm ARLFC, said: “We rely on donations to keep our team looking their best all season long so we’re hugely grateful to Taylor Wimpey for their contribution.

“We’re committed to giving our young players the opportunity to develop their skills so having the support of a business that plays such a big role in the community is a great boost.”

A community run sports club, Newton Storm ARLFC prides itself on offering opportunities for everyone to participate in Rugby League, regardless of gender, age, ability or background, whether playing, coaching or simply spectating.

Currently, it is home to three youth teams (U16s, 15s and 14s), eight junior teams and a senior/open age team, making the sport accessible for all.

Stuart Craig, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey North West, adds: “We’ve made it our mission to support those causes and organisations that are vital to the communities in which we build and Newton Storm ARLFC is no exception.

“We’re pleased to offer our support and wish Lee and the team all the best for the new season.”
