SOME train services travelling through St Helens were affected this morning due to a derailment in the depot at Wigan North Western.

Trains which have scheduled stops in St Helens on the way to Wigan have been delayed, or cancelled this morning (Monday, January 6).
The service which travels through Prescot, Eccleston Park, Thatto Heath, St Helens Central and Garswood has been affected.
Wigan North Western
A statement from Northern Rail said: "Due to a derailment within the depot at Wigan North Western some lines are blocked.
"Train services running through this station may be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes".
Northern says disruption has now ended and services are no longer affected.
