IN a new feature we will be dipping into the wedding albums of St Helens couples who have tied the knot this year and finding out more about the happiest day of their life.

Here is the wedding album and story for John and Lindsay Ashton who said I do to infinity and beyond.

St Helens Star:

Full names: John and Lindsay Ashton

Ages: John - 38 and Lindsay - 28

Area you live in: Newton-le-Willows

When and how you met?: June 2015 at the Legh Arms pub

What you thought of each other when you first met?: John said: "Out of my league" and Lindsay said "Wow!"

St Helens Star:

Where and when you got engaged: John proposed in September 2016 in our living room whilst we were watching NCIS:Los Angeles.

Date and location of the wedding and reception - 06/07/2019 - St Peters Church - High Street, Newton-le-Willows. The Reception was at Alder Root Golf Course in a marquee

How were you feeling on the morning of your wedding?: Very Very rushed! We had to drop off cupcakes (instead of wedding cake) at the venue before dropping me off for my hair and make up done.

St Helens Star:

Yes we woke up together as we have a daughter together and it was her Christening as well as our wedding so we decided to share our morning alone, just the three of us before the mayhem of the day.

How would you describe your wedding?: Best day ever! Wonderful, really funny and personalised!

How many guests did you have?: 120

St Helens Star:

What did your guests eat?: BBQ and had milkshake flavour cupcakes.

What are your favourite memories of the day?: My Toy story shoes and sharing our wedding and christening day together. Our Wedding Singer Chris Appleton sang Madness - It must be love whilst I walked down the aisle and the three of us walking out to it too.

St Helens Star:

Tell us a little bit about your outfits on the day?: John had a grey three piece suit and I had a white wedding dress with Toy Story shoes on underneath and Cerys (our daughter) had a flower dress on with personalised shoes.

Everyone loved the shoes, the vicar made me turn round half way through the service and lift bottom of my dress up to show the entire church my shoes, it was brilliant.

He put his own words in at the end and said I hope you have a lifetime full of love and happiness for infinity and beyond. Which obviously made the day extra special and unique.

Did you go on a honeymoon? If so where?: No, we have an 11 year old dog who we can't leave.

St Helens Star:

Please tell us a little bit about the things you have in common/why you love each other and why you wanted to get married: We enjoy the same tv shows and music. We both have the same family values and want the same thing out of life. He makes me laugh every single day and we know how lucky we both are to have found each other.

St Helens Star:

Is there anything else you would like to share with us about your day or your relationship?: When we met, we were told that we wouldn't work out as he's too 'loud' for me when it's actually the other way round....haha!

What was the name of your photographer?: S Arnold Photography - It was her second wedding to shoot and she absolutely smashed it! She's amazing at what she does!

St Helens Star:

Would you like to tell us about your wedding?

If you're a St Helens couple who got married in 2019 we would love to hear from you.
