THE company behind a new development in Birkenhead have donated Christmas presents to the children's ward at Arrowe Park Hospital.

GAPE Equity received the green light earlier this year to transform vacant office space above TK Maxx, Barclays and New Look on Grange Road into 59 apartments.

As well as investing in the local area, the company decided that they wanted to spread some festive cheer by handing over a haul of presents for youngsters receiving treatment at Arrowe Park Hospital.

Patients and staff from the hospital gave the company a wish list to buy presents from.

Directors from the business then delivered the presents in a van to the children on the ward.

GAPE Equity Ltd managing director Arran Bailey told the Globe: “As a developer working to improve the area, we feel very strongly connected to the local community.

“We didn’t hesitate in helping out for the good of the town’s youngsters.

“It really hit home just how fortunate we are to have our health and to be able to spend it with our loved ones at Christmas.

“We were delighted to be able to bring a little joy to the young people.”

It is the fourth year that kind-hearted colleagues from GAPE Equity have provided Christmas presents for hospitals around the country but this is the first time that Arrowe Park Hospital's children's ward has benefitted.
