A WOMAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a disturbance at a home in Newton Mearns.
Police said the 41-year-old's injuries are not life-threatening following the incident on Castle Road on Sunday night.
The force added that a 37-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the disturbance.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that a 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a disturbance within a house on Castle Road in Newton Mearns.
"The incident was reported shortly after 10.05pm on Sunday, December 8.
"A 41-year-old woman suffered serious injuries during the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
"The incident was contained to within the property and there was no wider risk to the public. Inquiries are ongoing."
