MESSAGES of sympathy have poured in after a 72-year-old man died in a crash yesterday afternoon, Monday.
Emergency services were sent to Dentons Green Lane in Dentons Green, near to the Fort Knox warehouse, following a collision there between a Renault Clio and a pedestrian.
The crash happened at around 12.10pm.
The pedestrian, a man from St Helens, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly passed away.
His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

Following the tragedy, Star readers expressed their heartfelt sympathy to the man's family on Facebook.
Praise was also given to people who provided help at the scene.
Gill Forshaw said: "Absolutely heartbreaking. R.I.P. My thoughts are with his family."
Susan Skerry said: "My thoughts go to the gentleman and his family at this sad time. God bless you all who helped."
Rebbecca Beesley added: "So very sad, condolences to his family."

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information about the crash.
