A DRIVER was caught driving at almost double the speed limit in Bournemouth on Saturday.
The motorist, nabbed while driving at 75 miles per hour in a 40mph zone, was one of eight people caught speeding during a single day by Dorset Police's No Excuse team.
As a result of the high speed, the driver is due to appear before magistrates.
The others were all issued with three points and an £100 fine as they were travelling too fast for speed awareness courses.
Officers seized a car for having no insurance as the driver had 'borrowed it from a friend'. The driver will be handed six points and a £300 fine.
One driver was stopped while travelling at 62mph in a 40mph stretch of road in Bear Cross.
She told police she had driven from Swanage and was returning to her Ringwood home.
Officers allege she gave a positive roadside breath test and was arrested and later charged with drink driving.
