Police released an image of the hammer
POLICE discovered a hammer after searching land in a park on Saturday.
A team of officers from St Helens examined ground in Sherdley Park looking for offensive weapons.
They discovered a hammer placed next to a tree.

Following the find officers released the image on social media.
A police spokesman said: "This is now in safe hands making the park safer."
