PLANS have been put forward seeking permission to build four houses, 10 bungalows and two allotments.

Proposals have been submitted to the council requesting the go-ahead for a development on land to the back of properties on Station Road, Haydock.

The application states the site lies just outside an area of green belt.

The plans are for four semi-detached homes, 10 detached bungalows and the laying out of two allotments.

They say: "the extent of the development proposed is intended to be consistent with the surrounding residential area but also within the capacity of the existing road networks to be able to support a modest increase in traffic generation along Cooper Lane to join the local network".

They add: "It is considered the proposed development is highly sustainable as it assists in the regeneration of the area and by bringing back into use a site that has been occupied by dilapidated/disused land for many years".

The plans are on public consultation until Wednesday, November 20.
