NEW Saints coach Kristian Woolf has arrived in the country on the back of his exploits with Tonga.

Woolf will take the reins from Justin Holbrook for the 2020 season after signing a two-year deal with Saints with an option for an extra year.

The Australian arrives fresh from his achievements with Tonga on the international scene.

His Tonga Invitational team defeated Great Britain before getting the better of the Australian Kangaroos 16-12 last week.

Woolf, a Queenslander, had been working as assistant to ex-Saints boss Nathan Brown at NRL side Newcastle Knights and became interim head coach when Brown left he club in August this year.

The 44-year-old touched down on Thursday, donning a pair of flip flops as he arrived to the English autumn.
