COMMUNITY arts company MD Productions will be taking youths from St Helens to perform at the F1 Abu Dhabi grand prix - but needs businesses help to make it happen.

MD Productions, who were runners up twice in Britain's Got Talent, have made a huge impact on youths since coming to the town last year, particularly with their Blank Canvas project offering free classes to youths in the borough.

The group, led by creative director Miguel Doforo, have once again secured a position to perform at the F1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, and hopes to take a selection of their group with them.

The will not only perform or help organise the performance, but will also share the stage with The Killers and Marshmallow at the top event

However, with each having to pay £1,200 each for flights, accommodation and food, he is looking for individual businesses to fund a child, or two, to have the experience of a lifetime.

He said: "This is the fourth year we are going to Abu Dhabi and it's exciting, but after all the work we've done with Blank Canvas, I'd like some of the kids here who have worked so hard to experience it too.

"So we got in touch with some businesses and YMCA St Helens, ODs, Rainford High and O2 Rainford have each agreed to fund one child, but there are 15 more who also deserve the chance of a lifetime to go over there with us.

"We'd be there for five days in a hotel, perform on the stage at the Grand Prix, get to meet drivers like Lewis Hamilton and watch and share the stage with The Killers and Marshmallow.

"Ever since we arrived in St Helens we've aimed to raise aspirations, this does does just but we need businesses help.

"Any sponsors will have their logo on our costumes so it will be great exposure for them."
