WAR veteran Andy Reid is inviting residents to drop into his bar after the Remembrance Sunday events for a free glass of port - and to see a chair made up of his army uniform to mark 10 years since his life changing injuries.
The dad-of-two, from Rainford, lost his right leg below the knee, his left leg above the knee and his right arm after stepping on a IED whilst on patrol in Afghanistan on October 13, 2009.
But rather than let his injuries take over his life, he turned his attentions to his recovery.
In 2010 he became a volunteer ambassador and fundraiser for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and he committed his life to raising awareness and fundraising for amputees, both civilian and military.
To mark 10 years since he survived the blast, his army uniform has been transformed into an armchair, complete with medals, for all who attend his venue, Cinema Bar, to enjoy.
Andy Reid MBE is also offering a free glass of port for all who attend after the parade, and food will be provided.
