The new shop will be located in Church Square Shopping Centre, with signage already in place with the store currently being fitted out.

It takes over the empty former Grainger Games unit in the shopping centre, which has been vacant since its closure in March 2018.

Menkind describes itself on its website as "a gift and gadget retailer that’s all about fun, geeking out and embracing your inner child".

It is believed the upcoming Menkind shop will employ around eight people, although the exact number of employees has not yet been confirmed to the Star.

A spokeswoman for Menkind said: "It is in our plans to open soon and we have November 9 marked down in our calendars as the opening date."

Menkind's existing premises include stores in nearby Wigan, Warrington and Liverpool.
