EMERGENCY services were called to a St Helens town centre street after a car struck a wall.

The incident, involving a Blue Honda happened on Exchange Street, near to the Chinese Buffet Restaurant, at 12.50pm.

Police, ambulance and fire crews all attended the scene.
Emergency services at the scene this afternoon
A police spokesman said the driver of the car was treated for leg and facial injuries.
The man is believed to be aged in his late 70s.
A spokesman added: "He got leg and facial injuries and he was taken to Whiston Hospital.
"He is still in hospital and it is down as a serious injury but not life-threatening."
