Walmsley, who was joined on the tour by Joe Philbin (Warrington Wolves) and Jake Trueman (Castleford Tigers), was smiling at this point during his encounter with a giant wetapunga - an insect native to New Zealand which has been around for 190 million years.

But Big Al didn't always look so sure about the creepy-crawlie.

They spent time at the lions enclosure, for a Lions meets lions experience.

But the big cats were not keen to play ball though, instead lazing away the day.

They met birdkeeper Casey Will in the kiwi brooder room.

And she showed them a mock kiwi egg.

The Great Britain Lions arrived in New Zealand on Sunday ahead of matches against Tonga and the Kiwis before finishing their tour in Papua New Guinea next month.
