TRAVELLERS have been spotted moving in on one of Bolton's parks.
In recent months, Leverhulme Park has been the site of concerns caused by travellers. Now, nine caravans have appeared over the last few days on the main car park of Moss Bank Park.
The council has already attempted to take action in an attempt to remove the caravans by applying for a court order.
A spokesman for Bolton Council said: “The group has been served directions and we are applying for a court order to move the encampment on as soon as possible.”
The park was quiet over the course of the weekend as many of the fields were flooded as a result of the torrential rain.
It is believed that the caravans were driven over the waterlogged fields to get to the car park which has a height limit of 2.1m.
Tyre marks now cover the grass nearby in the direction of the car park.
