THE driver of a Mercedes crashed into railings on the East Lancs and then made off from the scene, say police.
Police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage of the collision which took place at around 11am yesterday morning (Tuesday, September 24).

Reports were received of a car, thought to be a white Mercedes A Class, crashing with railings on the East Lancs Road, near to the junction of Lodge Lane, Haydock.
Police say a man is believed to have made off from the scene.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for information about reports of a fail to stop collision in Haydock yesterday, Tuesday, September 24.
"At around 11.05am, reports were received of a car, believed to be a white Mercedes A Class, in collision with railings on the East Lancs Road, near to the junction of Lodge Lane.
"A man is believed to have made off from the scene, although officers attended and no trace of the car was found. Nobody is reported to have been injured.
"The man is described as white, 25 to 30 years old, of medium build, with short brown hair, stubble and wearing a light grey tracksuit."
