POLICE are investigating after a reports of a shooting and petrol bomb being thrown in Ashton-in-Makerfield.
There have been no reported injuries from the incident which took place shortly before 11pm on Saturday (September 21) police say.
Officers were called to Bolton Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield to reports of a firearms discharge and petrol bomb being thrown at a property on the street.
Police are investigating the incident, which is not believed to be linked to a previous shooting incident reported on Bickershaw Lane in Abram on Thursday, September 19.
There have been no reported injuries.
Superintendent Caroline Hemingway said: “We understand the local community will be concerned by the incident, and I would like to reassure the public that the matter is being fully investigated and additional dedicated patrols are being deployed to the area.”
