VOTING is now open to find the Best Takeaway in Britain for 2019.

The British Takeaway Awards, in association with Just Eat, returns for its fifth year to celebrate the unsung heroes of the takeaway sector and for the first time ever, a lucky takeaway lover could be in with the chance of winning new category.

TV chef Ainsley Harriott, who is also one of the British Takeaway Awards judges, will then pick the lucky winner who will receive a holiday to the country where their favourite takeaway cuisine hails from, a free takeaway every month for a year (courtesy of Just Eat), and 'Britain’s #1 Takeaway Fan' trophy.

For half a decade, people in the North West have voted en-masse for their favourite takeaways in The British Takeaway Awards.

The five takeaways that receive the most votes in each of the twelve regions are invited to the star-studded awards ceremony at The Savoy, London on January 27, 2020 where the winning takeaway will be crowned Best Takeaway in Britain.

Owner of Brunch (winner of The Best Takeaway in Britain and in the North West 2018), Sharon Carline said: “We’ve won a British Takeaway Award every year since it started in 2015 and each time it feels out of this world to be recognised in such a large industry, especially as we are a small independent business.

"We have a really strong, loyal customer base so it’s great (and a bit of fun) to see ‘Britain’s #1 Takeaway Fan’ being added as a category this year so our customers can share in the joy too.

"Since winning the BTAs we have had customers visiting from all over the world!”

By voting for your favourite takeaway you could also be in with the chance to win £1,000.

Voting is open now until September 20 via https://vote.thebtas.co.uk/
