A TOWN centre pub is under offer after being placed on the market with an asking price of £180,000.
The Royal Alfred, currently owned by Punch Taverns, has opened and closed several times over the past two years.
The pub chain placed the three storey semi-detached building, located on Bickerstaffe Street, in a key position opposite St Helens Central station, over the summer.
The pub is on the ground floor and on the first floor there are three bedrooms, two letting rooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and a living room.
The second floor is made up of nine letting rooms and two bathrooms.
It is unclear at this stage, what the future holds for the pub.
The scale and location means it could potentially be transformed to residential properties.
However, it is understood regeneration leaders believe the right ownership could create a vibrant pub that could add to the mix of restaurants and pubs in the George Street quarter.
