A BROKEN down train between Eccles and Newton-le-Willows is resulting in long delays this morning.
Some trains will be cancelled and disruption is expected until around 9.15am.
The problem is affecting Northern trains between:
- Manchester Airport / Manchester Victoria and Liverpool Lime Street; between Chester and Leeds
- TransPennnine Express between Newcastle and Liverpool Lime Street
- Transport for Wales between Manchester Airport / Manchester Piccadilly and Llandudno Junction
Tickets being accepted on Transpennine Express and Manchester Metrolink services.
