A PLANNING application to create a riding and exercise arena at a farm has been approved

Proposals asking for permission to construct a fully fenced riding and exercise arena, of approximately 20metres x 60metres in size, on Wheatacre Farm on Gorsey Lane, Bold were submitted in July.

This will be located on what is currently a rough grassland area on the farm.

The proposed arena is planned to be used for "dressage practice" by the owner.

In passing the scheme, planning officers noted the site is "currently overgrown with weeds and did appear to be being used for anything".

It was said the proposed scale of the arena was "considered to be an appropriate amount of development necessary for the sport".

The plans have been given the nod by council officers.
