KNUTSFORD Academy is celebrating its excellent GCSE results.
Headteacher James Whittaker congratulated the students on their hard work and well-deserved success.
He said: “These results represent a tremendous achievement for the students who have worked incredibly hard to achieve this level of success.

“There are so many high achieving students this year, but special mention goes to Amelia Byrne, who achieved seven grade 9s and two 8s, Ella Senior who scored A** in further mathematics along with six grade 9s and two grade 8s, Emma Bland with six grade 9s, three grade 8s and an A* in further mathematics.”

27 per cent of grades achieved were 7 to 9, the equivalent of the ‘old’ A/A*, compared with 20.8 per cent nationally.
Of these, 5.5 per cent were at grade 9 compared with 4.5 per cent nationally.
94 per cent of students achieved a grade 4 or higher in English compared with 62 per cent nationally.
In mathematics, 94 per cent of grades were 4 or higher compared with 59.6 per cent nationally.
