POLICE were called to reports of a boy being threatened by a group near to a park on Monday evening (August 19).
Officers received a report of a youth being chased by a group on Acorn Street, near to Mesnes Park, Newton-le-Willows at 6.30pm.
Police carried out a search but did not find any suspects and enquiries are ongoing.

"At 6.30pm, a report was made of a young male being chased by a group on Acorn Street, near to Mesnes Park.
"An area search was carried out and no criminal offences were identified or persons threatened or injured.
"Enquiries are ongoing and officers will be carrying out patrols in the area."
